Situated in Bishop Wilton, at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds, the Blacksmith's Shop Gallery is a pioneering artistic venture founded by Mark Ibson and driven by the simple belief that art is for all.

This ethos is perhaps best captured by the concept of 'Outsider Art', in which the gallery specialises; art produced by those often without strictly conventional artistic backgrounds, but nonetheless captured by the same inspiration and artistic vision that unites all creative minds.

As a self-taught artist, abstract painter and furniture restorer, Mark Ibson has long used the former forge as his own workspace, before opening it up as a gallery space in summer 2022.

The gallery hosts regular exhibitions and presently can be visited by appointment only.
